I don’t know why “they” call it Baby Proofing. What is your baby who lays on the floor and smiles at a spot on the wall really going to get into? Oh no, an outlet! Oh put all the glass vases way up high! It’s all pretty standard in the baby age. The tough part? Toddlers. Once they start walking, there is the new level they never saw before. Plus there are things that we as adults don’t really think is fun anymore.
Like?!
Putting things in the toilet.
I don’t know what it is about lifting that seat up and tossing in random inanimate objects, but apparently it is the cat’s pajamas {figuratively speaking. we don’t actually HAVE cat pajamas here. But if we did, they’d be in the toilet}.
Running with sharp objects
So you put your scissors way up high out of toddler reach? Well unless YOU can barely reach it, this kid will. I think they have these magical flying powers that initiate when you turn your back. Anyways, so they got your scissors out of the back of the top drawer of you 4 foot crafting dresser. Now they run. Okay that might sound fun, but through the years we have learned that it’s really not a good idea.
Doggie Doors
Not only do toddlers have a magical ability to fly when your back is turned, they also have super sonic speed. If you aren’t looking for long enough to put the scissors back in the drawer, your toddler gone. Climbing out of the doggie door. So tell Spot he may just have to ask to go out for now on. Leaving the big door open for access to the doggie door isn’t happening until the toddler learns doggie doors are for doggies. Not for little boys.
Throwing Electronics
Nice remote mom! *SMASH* There is something about the sleek black and silver of important electronic equipment that is irresistible to toddlers. Protecting these is really important. As you know, I have a new iPhone, and I have seen way too many scary sad pictures of spiderweb cracked screens. Now that I have finally found a phone I want to spend the rest of my life with {haha I so funny} I want to keep it super safe. When you’re looking for a really good iPhone cover, Otterbox is the first word out of people’s lips. Otterbox makes cases for your phones, iPads, Kindles, and more. I wanted something sleek still, nothing Zack-Morris-Phone like and went with a Commuter Series Case. It’s lime green (A little different from my usual pink, but I can always change my phone’s outfits for a night out if I really want!) and super trim. It’s a soft impact absorbing silicone cover all the way around and then the green plastic (Hi-impact polycarbonate to be exact!!) piece that goes over it. The green totally absorbs all the shock when the iPhone gets chucked or dropped or tossed through the doggie door. My Otterbox also came with a screen protector! So no little scratches or toddler jelly prints on my screen! Otterbox has won a ton of impressive awards, and they totally deserve every one!
{OMG I just knocked it on the floor}
I like this girl’s bike….
I think Otterbox needs to make a video with toddlers stealing their parents’ iPhones. Because they are way tougher than concrete lol!
What things have YOU had to toddler proof?!
I was sent an Otterbox for review. I received no compensation. All opinions are honest and my own. I love it so much I want to buy a pink one!

I learned the hard way (after the kids ruined my first iPhone) that the otterbox was the way to go. It is absolutely worth every. single. penny. I was used to buying those cheap, “cutesy” covers, and while the otterbox isn’t too cutesy, it def protects my phone better than any cover/case has before. Love love it.

Oh boy do I have some stories! In the last 8 years I’ve had so many things broken, things chopped up, items in the toilet, etc.!
Otterbox def makes cases that are child proof, and I love them for it!

Ooooh the electronics. It’s so nice when they think it’s a good idea to throw your $300 phone on the ground isn’t it?! *sigh* I do love that case you got from Otterbox though. I had no clue they actually made a case for my phone! (I need some mama-proofing for it too, I have butter fingers when I’m holding it for some reason. Probably because it cost so much.) Their prices are pretty great too, not too expensive like some of the other cases I’ve seen.

I have an Otterbox case for my iPhone and I absolutely LOVE that thing! I took my iPhone out of the case the other day and it still looks brand new. My girls have drooled all over that thing, shoved it in their mouth, thrown it across the room, etc and it has survived it all. Everyone mommy with a toddler needs an Otterbox case! Really!

Okay, so you totally convinced me. I just went and bought an Otterbox for my phone from Amazon + free prime shipping. It was a pretty good deal and the case looks like it has tons of great reviews. I can’t wait to get it! :)
