So I have decided to do Austin’s first birthday party with a MONSTER theme! So fitting since we LOOOOVE monsters around here ;)
A month or so ago I bought his invitations. They are postcards (genius) and come with thank you notes!
I’m scouring Etsy for cupcake toppers, ideas, and party hats. There are a zillion things on there that I want to buy! But as I’m looking at it all, I’m thinking “I could make that!”
Like I could totally make this banner. I like this kit, you order it and it all comes on your computer and you just print it out, but that green guy kinda creeps me out…
I looooove this theme from Etsy. The cupcake toppers in particular. But it is PRICEY….
This one is super cute and definitely my style. May be not purple for Austin though…. I really like the hats!

I can’t wait for Halloween and Target! I got a lot of things for Austin’s nursery there during Halloween season last year. I’m sure they’ll have a lot of new monster stuff this year!
Oriental trading Company has TONSSSS of monster stuff, and it’s all SO SO SO cheap! They have a kit to make 12 monster face hanging lanterns for TEN DOLLARS. I’m going to definitely get that and use them to decorate for the party, and then just move them to his room!
They have a pinata, but I think that’s a little too old for a one year old’s party hehe. Although I DO love candy…
They have Monster rubber duckies, tattoos, suckers, pillows, the list goes on and on and on!
I can’t wait for this party. I know I’m getting a bit extravagant for a baby’s 1st birthday, but I don’t care. I can’t wait. I’m going to make it fabulous! May be he’ll want monster theme every year and I can just keep doing it! LOL

Hey us too! Did you see my semi-recent blog post about it? I narrowed the theme down to 4 choices and DH picked MONSTERS! I’m totally gonna steal all your ideas. Maybe we can host a monster bash on both our blogs? Their bdays are close enough! I spent yesterday searching etsy too, haha. I love all the cupcake toppers, but I think I want a big monster cake instead – that Ryan can just DIG IN to. OOO or maybe a monster cake for him to destroy and cupcakes for everyone else!

I love it!! We did an over-the-top party for Claire’s birthday too so don’t feel bad at all! Paid way too much for her embroidered outfit with matching bow and cake but they only turn one once!! Have you thought of a pull pinata? I don’t know if there is a monster one but we had a butterfly one (to go with the theme) and it was really fun even for the little ones. :) Good luck and have fun obsessing!!
